A Passion for Care

A team committed to delivering Outstanding Care

On a typical morning at Nyton, you will see our Registered Manager or Head of Care leading the shift, supported by four carers. We take great pride in our Housekeeping Team who clean the house from top to bottom daily ensuring Nyton is always well presented with no odours. Each day, our Head Chef and a Kitchen Assistant fill the home with the aromas of freshly prepared, home-cooked food.

Qualified Staff and Training
We are committed to supporting all our staff to achieve a professional Care Qualification. All new staff have an induction prior to starting work and then a probation period of 3 months, meeting the national requirements. The staff are trained and reviewed in Health and Safety, Moving and Handling, Infection Control, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) First Aid, Dementia Care, Palliative Care and Safeguarding and the Deprivation of Liberty which links up to the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Fire training is undertaken 3 monthly for night staff and 6 monthly for day staff. We carry out regular supervision of staff and appraisals to review their skills and understanding of the training given, this also allows for more training needs to be identified and acted on.

Family Connections
We are very fortunate to have several generations of the same family working at Nyton House and have done so in some cases since leaving school. We have a happy working atmosphere; hence we can retain the levels of experienced staff in our home.
We are happy to carry out a courtesy visit along with a pre-admission assessment for prospective clients. We can take permanent placements and respite stays, and are open to discussing individual clients' needs and expectations.
