This Winter themed acrostic poem was co-created in a session with the lovely residents at Nyton House Limited Residential Care Home yesterday 💕It was a pleasure to welcome a new member, C, to the session and hear the group's memories of winters past, from C's family holidays in Kent trudging through deep snow, something A remembered well too as he was brought up in Kent. J recalled snowy starts in the Meon Valley and arriving a couple of minutes late for work in Portsmouth with no locals believing his tales of snow covered paths and lanes over the hill! 🌨️ ❄️We read a number of poems together including the beautiful classic 'The North wind doth blow' and marvelled at nature's wonders, from Swallow migrating miles South and Honey bees hibernating to learning that snails hibernate in their shells by adding a slimy doorway to seal the entrance... who knew?🐌❄️🐝 Thank you all for your wonderful creativity, knowledge and sharing ✨#dementiafriendly #poetrycommunity #creativitymatters #readaloud #reminiscence #CareHomeActivities #activitiesforseniors #dementiacare #MeaningfulConnections #SeniorActivities #winter ...
